Energy cell, small energy cell, or simply small energy is an item of ammunition in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout Tactics and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. It is a small, self-contained energy storage unit often associated with one-handed energy weapons and acts essentially as a very powerful battery or capacitor.
Variants[]
Small energy cell[]
A pair of red energy cylinders marked with a central white line. The cylinders sit on a rusty, rectangular metal box fitted with a red light and two arching braces. A total of 200 small energy cells can fully charge a Highwayman car.[1]
Energy cell[]
A collection of three thin energy-storing cylinders, held together by an embossed metal enclosure. Each cylinder has a capacity of 1040.8 DC volts and has both positive and negative terminals. Produced by Wattz Electronics with a low shelf life,[2] the energy cells were slightly smaller than microfusion cells and were used for a variety of devices, from energy weapons to household appliances.
Energy cell, bulk[]
A less potent, mass-produced version of the standard Wattz Electronics energy cell.
Energy cell, max charge[]
A standard energy cell charged to maximum capacity, allowing for more powerful output while being more volatile.
Energy cell, over charge[]
A more powerful, yet also more volatile, version of the standard energy cell.
Energy cell, optimized[]
Added in the Gun Runners' Arsenal add-on, optimized energy cells have higher damage and armor penetration, as well as reduced weight in Hardcore mode. However, they do also cause slightly faster weapon deterioration.
