Background[]
Emeric and Jolie accompanied Magellan on his traveling roadshow, following his departure from Atlantic City. They were doubtful of Magellan's attempts to train and tame the Overgrown, and encouraged him to simply put them down and get rid of them. For daring to question his judgment, Magellan proceeded to fire Emeric and Jolie, calling them "short-sighted freaks."[1]
