The East Central Commonwealth was one of the thirteen commonwealths of the pre-War United States of America. Created in 1969,[1] the East Central Commonwealth was comprised of the former states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Mentioned in John Henry Eden's broadcasts, it was stated that this particular commonwealth was hit by the bombs, yet much of its pre-War glory managed to survive and flourish. If Eden is to be believed, the commonwealth managed to survive the violence and disease that blanketed the rest of the world. It proudly keeps its pre-War landmarks, such as Knob Creek, or Hodgenville. Since Eden is a Artificial Intelligence that has spent its entire "life" in the Raven Rock complex, it is likely that this statement was either made up as propaganda or based on the childhood of another president, such as Abraham Lincoln.

Carver Timmerman's family lived in Kentucky in 2103, where they became established hunters, Carver runs a family Caravan that employs the Blue Ridge Caravan Company which trades as far as Appalachia.
