She is in a relationship with Professor Scara. In contrast to her partner's serious nature, Duff is very light-hearted and eager to teach and conduct experiments. She is also rather condescending towards the player, talking to them as if they were a young child.

- Liberty Reprimed: When the Sole Survivor travels to the Science! Center in search of Scara, she will request that they look for her at the General Atomics Galleria, worried that something might have happened to her.
- Fly Fishing: After speaking to her about a free biology lesson, she will give the unmarked quest to find a bloatfly gland as part of a field trip. If you pass a speech check, you may ask her for money as compensation for doing this side-quest.
