Dr. Klein's glove is a unique weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.

Background[]

A chemical glove that previously belonged to the human who became Doctor Klein, left stored in his home in Higgs Village after the scientist underwent the extraction of his brain to place it in a think tank chassis.

Characteristics[]

Unlike other scientist glove variants except for Dr. Mobius' glove, Dr. Klein's glove has two unique secondary effects instead of one: the regular strike effect, titled "SCIENCE!", inflicts a -5 reduction to the target's Energy Weapons skill and a -2 reduction to the target's Strength attribute for 30 seconds. The Critical Hit effect, titled "Science POW!", inflicts an additional -1 reduction to the target's Strength for 30 seconds and a -1 reduction to the target's DT for 60 seconds.

Compared to the standard scientist glove, Dr. Klein's glove inflicts a higher amount of normal damage per strike, the highest of all its variants, at a similar high-end attack speed. Like all scientist glove variants, it inflicts the third-lowest amount of critical hit damage of all unarmed weapons, at a 1x critical chance multiplier. It has the second-lowest AP cost of all its variants and of all unarmed weapons along with the brass knuckles (in both regards, above Dr. Mobius' glove). It has a low-end weight and the second-highest caps value of all its variants (below Dr. Mobius' glove), but also a low-to-moderate durability. Like all scientist glove variants, it is considered an improved holdout weapon. It requires a 45 Unarmed skill level and 3 Strength attribute level to use effectively.

Visually, the weapon is similar in appearance to the standard variant including the teal-blue color, only lacking the dirt-splotched texture. It also has "Dr. K" written in black marker on the left side of the forearm.

Location[]

The weapon is located at Higgs Village in the southeast ordinal direction of Big MT, found in house #101 in the upstairs middle room. It is in the bottom corner of a cabinet to the right side of the door.

Notes[]

Equipping the weapon along with Dr. Klein's glasses and Dr. Klein's scrubs will complete the Klein Destine challenge.
