A deathclaw egg is a destructible world object in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Fallout Tactics and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, a simple world object in Fallout 3, a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas, and a consumable in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
Background[]
Deathclaw eggs are large, weighing up to twelve pounds (5.5 kilograms),[1] durable and resilient, with a remarkably long shelf life.[2] Deathclaws will seek out dark, sheltered areas to set up their nests.[3] Lone deathclaws will also claim territories and create nests, usually in sheltered, secluded areas. If they are female and have been impregnated by a male deathclaw, they will prepare a separate nest for their young, protecting their hardy eggs with whatever small objects are at hand, such as small rocks, fallen leaves, twigs, and bones leftover from their meals.[4]

Deathclaw egg[]
In Fallout, deathclaw eggs can be found in the deathclaw warehouse, at the Boneyard and the Vault Dweller can destroy them along with the deathclaws, so to permit the Gun Runners to expand.
In Fallout 2, a group of intelligent deathclaw eggs are found inside Vault 13, guarded by Kerith, the pack mother.
In the Fallout 3 add-on Broken Steel, deathclaw eggs are located inside the deathclaw pens in the Adams Air Force Base hangars and at the Old Olney underground.
Hairy deathclaw eggs appear in Fallout Tactics.
In Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, experimental deathclaw eggs are unique, as they appear more like a pile of flesh nearly the same size as a human, due to the experiments conducted by Vault-Tec.
Pristine deathclaw egg[]
The pristine deathclaw egg can only be found in Fallout 4. It is a part of the quest The Devil's Due, in which the Sole Survivor must either take the egg back to its mother or to Wellingham in Diamond City, where they will receive Wellingham's recipe and some caps.
Cracked deathclaw egg[]
This variant is a hatched or broken deathclaw egg. It can be randomly found in deathclaw nests.
