While running away from raiders, Darlene spotted a rope ladder that led to a small treehouse far above the treeline. She and her father Lorne scrambled up and were able to overpower the raiders due to the advantageous position. Such a position would make for a promising location for a residence, but she and her father lacked the skills to build it on their own.
Another member of their group, Caroline, offered to walk down to master carpenter Gavin McCullough's cabin to ask for help with the project, and he and his crew were willing to assist. The village was constructed quickly and began to grow, but was not without frequent raider attacks.
One night, gunshots rang out and although the community members responded quickly to defend themselves, Darlene was killed in the fight. Subsequently, her father decided it was no longer safe to remain living in the settlement and the group abandoned the village. Before leaving, Lorne rigged the buildings with booby traps in an attempt to enact some semblance of justice for his daughter.
Darlene is mentioned only in Fallout 76.
