“Wouldn't have made it through Crimson River Trail a few years back without it - losing so much blood early on, was a Cazador feast.”— Dialogue with Ulysses
The Crimson River Trail is a location in Caesar's Legion territory in 2281.
Background
According to Ulysses, during his time in the Legion, soldiers went on forced marches throughout the expanse of the Crimson River Trail. Throughout the trail, broc flowers and xander roots were common, and so bitter drink was used to keep the soldiers going. Since the trail was flooded with cazadores, the bitter drink was vital for healing wounded legionaries.[1]
Appearances
The Crimson River Trail is mentioned only in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.
Behind the scenes
Crimson River Trail may be based on the real world location of Crimson Trail, a hiking trail that traverses the entirety of Logan Canyon in northeastern Utah, along the Logan River.

Ulysses: "History? Cures a wound, leaves the bitterness that caused it. {To himself, scorn} The Twin Mothers were always about lessons. Caesar taught them the last one, though, so that's it for them. Recipe still exists, Legion uses it on forced marches with wounded soldiers. Wouldn't have made it through Crimson River Trail a few years back without it - losing so much blood early on, was a Cazador feast. Enough Xander root and Broc flower along the trail though, the Legion was able to keep pace and get where they were going."
