The crashed Vertibird is the wreckage of an Enclave Vertibird.
Layout
A VB-02 Vertibird (serial number VEM-105 2193) from Navarro can be found crashed in a crater east of the old nuclear test site and south of Matthews Animal Husbandry farm, close to hardened sentry bots and/or hardened Mister Gutsy model enemies. Note that these enemies differ, sometimes the guardians are feral ghouls. The wreckage is surrounded by a few skeletons and the Tesla-Beaton prototype.
Notable loot
- The Tesla-Beaton prototype, a unique Tesla cannon, is found at the rear of the crashed vertibird.
Notes
- Visiting this site with Arcade Gannon in tow will trigger a recollection that, along with other recollections, is needed to initiate the quest For Auld Lang Syne.
- The identification numbers on the Vertibird itself, VEM-105 2193, are identical to the Vertibird inside the Remnant's Bunker.
- Even though there are charred remains, there is smoke still bellowing out of crash site as if crashed there recently, when it has obviously been there for a long time.
Appearances
This crashed Vertibird appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
Behind the scenes
- This location, along with the hostile robots you encounter upon discovering the location, is an homage to the crashed Vertibird in Klamath Canyon in Fallout 2. Daisy Whitman in Novac mentions this crashed Vertibird in her dialogue, stating that she only lost one due to "rotor malfunction over Klamath".
The following is based on Fallout: New Vegas cut content. |
- A deceased non-player character named "Vertibird pilot" is included in the resources for Fallout: New Vegas, but not used. Presumably this non-player character was meant to be placed at the crash site at some point during development. Among the dead pilot's inventory is a red sector key card, a further reference to the Klamath Canyon site, more specifically to the yellow reactor keycard found on one of the deceased pilots.
