Computer Whiz is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Taking this perk grants a second attempt at hacking any computer/terminal if the first attempt would have resulted in a lock-out.

- Any hacking attempt can be aborted by backing out of the hacking interface (pressing "B"
/ "O" 
) prior to expending the last allowance, after which the security will reset, i.e. all potential passwords and assists reset, and it can be hacked again without consequence. In this manner, no computer will ever end up being locked out, which makes the perk irrelevant.
- However, in contrast to Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas includes a delay between successive attempts (if aborted). Due to this, coupled with a high Science skill, this perk can effectively act as a "Force Lock" for hacking, since the first attempt can just be going down all the passwords in sequence.
