The combat armor is a piece of armor in Fallout and Fallout 2.
Background[edit | edit source]
Combat armors were designed to provide balanced protection without limiting user mobility. They are a diverse family of personal body armor with varying degrees of sophistication, ranging from the earliest iterations developed by the United States Army[1] to the cutting-edge riot gears that came into use prior to the Great War.[2]
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Combat armor is the epitome of non-powered armor in the wastes and was much favored by police and military forces for their outstanding durability coupled with their high level of maneuverability. The armor itself consists of a large chest plate and helmet constructed out of high-level defensive polymers. It is highly effective armor for medium-level player characters, as it provides good resistance against small arms fire, laser beams and blasts of plasma energy alike.
In Fallout 2, combat armor also grants the wearer +20% Radiation Resistance. This is not documented anywhere in or out of the game.
