Combat armor reinforced is among one of the best forms of protection in the post-War Wasteland.

Background

Main article: Combat Armor

Combat armor was designed to sheath the human body as completely as possible in high durability armor. Mainly used by the US Special Forces, the primary skin of combat armor is composed of complex polymers and ceramics. This hard armor was manufactured as specific plates. The plates were manufactured with a matte-finish olive drab coloring suitable for woodland camouflage. These plates are affixed to a flexible body suit interwoven with thermal-dissipative membranes and bulletproof material.

Characteristics

Identical in appearance to the Combat armor found in Fallout and Fallout 2, this armor equipped most soldiers on the West side of the US army, unlike the East side which was still equipped with the classic combat armor, short-sleeved, having only the shoulder pads and chestplates covering the torso and not shaded visor in the helmet.

• A suit in good condition is awarded when you win more than 7,500 chips in the Gomorrah casino.
• A low condition suit can be found in an abandoned truck in the Devil's Throat near the CZ57 Avenger minigun.
• One of the mercenaries at the camp east of Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch is wearing the suit and helmet that are both in good condition and carries the YCS/186. Note that this encampment is replaced by aliens with the Wild Wasteland perk

Note

• Reinforced combat armor may not be repaired with regular Combat Armor, yet regular Combat Armor may be repaired with Reinforced version. With Jury Rigging it may be repaired with any other medium armor and the helmet may be repaired with any light apparel.
