The item is obtained from Desmond in the quest Thought Control to block Professor Calvert's signal.

• It is classed as a quest item and as such cannot be dropped once picked up.

PC If you choose to crush it in the trash compactor, you can still place it on the top of the Ferris Wheel afterward. ^[verified]
