Clara's diary is a paper note in Fallout 76, introduced in the Burning Springs update.

Location[]

The note can be found at Athens, inside the church near the northeastern side of town.

Transcript[]

Everyone in town heard the crash. We always lived by the tracks, but now I guess we don't live anywhere.

We were volunteering at the church after the news. About the bombs, the war. Mom said that helping others is the best way to help ourselves right now. Her hands were shaking. Other people were crying. It didn't seem real. Not back then. Now, it seems real.

Not long after we heard about the war, we heard the train. I don't know what the train was carrying when it derailed. Some kind of chemicals? They're red, and they soaked into everything.

We tried to get back to our house after and whatever spilled out of the train burned my eyes and made me cough. The soldiers came and told us we can't go back there. Maybe not ever.

Behind the scenes[]

During the Public Test Server, this note's original font had unknown punctuation marks, which caused ASCII code blocks to appear in the note's text. The font was changed to fix this in a subsequent version of the Public Test Server.[1]
