Clanden is a contracted member of the Omertas living in the Gomorrah in Fallout: New Vegas. He is part of the How Little We Know quest. Upon first interactions with him, he appears to be a relatively normal, peaceful individual. However, it can be later learned through the quest that he is in reality a far darker individual.
Background
Clanden is a seemingly peaceful character found in the Suites Level of the Gomorrah Casino lofting around his room. Not much is said about him and he has little history. He's also into torture, rape, murder, and long walks on the beach.

If you pickpocket him and take his room key, it can be used to unlock a door on the other side of the level. (The room is located by leaving Clanden's room, take a left, walk straight, take the left down the hall and is the first door on the right.) When you open the door, you will find a dead prostitute on a table. The room has hooks hanging from the ceiling and blood on the walls and floor. If your character has a medicine skill of 35 or higher, you can determine that the prostitute was tortured for several hours and then recently murdered. You will receive XP for the investigation.
Alternatively, you can pick the lock of the safe behind the two dressers in his room (the room he patrols), where you will find Snuff Tapes. You can use these to blackmail him into leaving town, or sell them to him for a price. If he becomes hostile you can kill him. For highly obvious reasons, you will always get good karma for murdering him.

Notes
- If you confront Clanden in his room and he becomes hostile, upon killing him the guard who patrols the hall outside of his room will become hostile to you which will lead to all of the Omerta thugs in the Casino becoming hostile. This can be avoided by closing Clanden's room door and then confronting him. Silenced weapons are recommended.
- There are many signs of violence in Clanden's suite, including evidence of a violent struggle in the kitchen and multiple pools of blood, and blood tracks on the carpet.
- Clanden will disappear from his room and the casino after receiving the weapon components during How Little We Know.
- Clanden may reappear later, locked in a jail cell at the NCR Embassy, but will have no new dialogue options, like he still thinks he is in his suite at Gomorrah and will not attempt to escape if you unlock and open the cell door. There is no penalty, and no hostility on the part of the NCR, if he is murdered in his jail cell.
- He may also be found wandering directly southwest of Ranger Station Charlie fighting two Vipers. If you attempt to speak with him, there will be no dialogue options available and he will talk as if he is still leaving his room at the Gomorrah. Upon killing him, you recieve positive karma and you can loot his room key, the Zoara Club Key, and other assorted ammunition, clothing, and his .44 magnum revolver (Fallout: New Vegas).
Bugs
- The Gomorrah Prostitute may be found standing seemingly alive inside the locked room. She will greet the Courier, utter random phrases, and even wander out into the hallway. Attempting to speak with the "corpse" will still prompt for the Medical skill check.
- The Gomorrah Prostitute could possibly disappear, and you won't be able to investigate her corpse.[verification overdue]
- If you convince him to leave town using the snuff tapes, then kill him, he will appear at the gate to the Strip when you leave to Freeside. The Securitrons there will then kill him.[verification overdue]
