The Chinese pulse field is a location in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage.
Background[]
The Chinese pulse field was set up to prevent American infantry, especially those in power armor, from traversing the tundra to their headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska. As depicted in the Anchorage Reclamation simulation, the pulse field used both a large force field as a barrier as well as a field of pulse mines. During Operation: Anchorage (as depicted in the simulation), American troops pushed to the station containing the power for the pulse field and shut it off, allowing American forces to invade and lay siege to a Chinese occupied refinery, defeating Chinese commander General Jingwei and paving the way for the liberation of Anchorage.
Layout[]
The pulse field itself is a large expanse of no man's land with occasional bumps in the snow from the pulse electrodes. Before the field itself, there is a bunker with some Chinese soldiers and automated turrets. Beyond that, to the northeast is a set of stairs that lead to a command center. This room houses the controls to shut down the pulse field.
Notable loot[]
- A intel suitcase in the command center, on the crates to the left of the field's deactivation switch.
