- Walking towards GNR Building Plaza, you will trigger a battle between Super Mutants and Lyons' Pride Platoon trying to protect Galaxy News Radio.
- Getting to Galaxy News Radio is part of the Following in His Footsteps main quest.
- If attempting this at low level or with a pacifist skill set, the Pulowski Preservation Shelter between the Metro exit and the Super Mutants can keep you alive and unscratched until Lyons' Pride Platoon finishes them off.

- make sure to loot all the Brotherhood of Steel corpses that can be found before and after the battle for your first set of Power Armor in decent repair that can be equipped on a follower (Charon) later. One set can be found on a dead initiate while following Lyons' Pride Platoon and several more can be looted after the final fight for GNR.
Interplay Logo Monument
Just outside the downstairs to Tenleytown/Friendship Station, there's a small square with a monument that is a wink to Interplay ( the original publishers of Fallout 1 and 2 ). The bronze Earth with a circling rocket appeared prominently when launching Fallout 1 and 2.
