Chemist is a perk in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout 76 and Fallout: The Roleplaying Game.
Overview[]
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas[]
The perk has a single rank, which effectively doubles the duration of ingested chems, such as Psycho or Jet. The increased duration of effects also applies to alcohol in Fallout 3 and many consumables and aid items in Fallout: New Vegas. The level and skill requirements for this perk are the same in both games.
Fallout 4[]
The perk was expanded to four ranks, with each rank increasing the duration of ingested chems by fifty percent, up to a maximum of two hundred percent. Much like in Fallout: New Vegas, the increased duration extends to many edible consumables. In addition, the first rank of the perk is a requirement for crafting certain items.
Fallout 76[]
The perk has a single rank and, for the first time in the series, does not affect the duration of ingested chems. Instead, it doubles the amount of chems crafted at a chemistry station. It is still possible to extend the duration of chems with the help of the Chem Fiend perk, which functions in the same way as Chemist did in previous games.
Fallout: The Roleplaying Game[]
The perk has a single rank, which effectively doubles the duration of crafted chems. It also unlocks additional recipes for crafting, much like in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76.
