Chase R&D was a biomedical research company in the pre-War United States.

Background[]

Specializing in pharmaceutical research, Chase R&D was founded and owned by General Constantine Chase, a high-ranked general officer in the United States Army. Officially, the company was a research division operated under the United States Army. Psycho, a military-grade amphetamine, was a product of Chase R&D. Scandal erupted when Dr. Adrienne Adami revealed that General Chase approved the usage of Psycho, which his company had produced, on soldiers under his command during the Anchorage Reclamation, despite clinical trials for the drug being incomplete at the time.[1][Non-game 1]

The company was also involved in the Doe trafficking case, with 120 units of injectable drugs stamped with the seal "Property of Chase R&D" recovered among Doe's trafficked drugs. They were collected by Major Newton, an Army officer.[2]

Appearances[]

Chase R&D is mentioned in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage, as well as in the Fallout 3 Official Game Guide and Fallout 4. Its product Psycho appears in all Fallout games.

An overworked and slightly agitate field doctor with several years of experience under her belt, Adami is busy administering Chems (usually Psycho) to wounded or mentally scarred soldiers at the U.S. Field Headquarters medical tent. Investigation into simulated Holotapes reveals discrepancies between her simulated and real-life persona, as her records implicate General Chase in a scandal of drugging soldiers with Chems researched at Chase's pharmaceutical company."
