Chance's grave is an unmarked location in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas and features in the graphic novel All Roads.
Background[]
While Benny, the rogue leader of the Chairmen, and his hired group of Great Khans were on their way to ambush a courier near Goodsprings to steal the package they were carrying, they passed near a tribal village that was under attack by a raiding party of Fiends. The raiders' use of fire triggered the Khans member Chance's traumatic memories of the Bitter Springs Massacre, causing him to attack the Fiends with backup from the others. In the process of killing the raider leader, Chance was scorched alive by his flamer, leaving him with severe burn wounds. Later on, Benny secretly arranged for Chance to overdose on spiked Psycho, and he was buried by Jessup and McMurphy near the ruined village as befits a Great Khan.[Non-game 1]
Layout[]
Situated north of Goodsprings and just southeast of the tribal village, one can take a short dirt path up to an alcove created by surrounding rock formations, where the grave is found. A raven can initially be seen in front of it before flying away as one gets closer.
Notable loot[]
- Chance's knife - a unique variant of the combat knife, found in the grave. Requires a shovel to access the grave.
Notes[]
Faint, ghostly whisper sounds can be heard at Chance's grave at a 2% chance; they are emitted by the wooden grave marker. This is a trait shared by all generic grave markers.
Appearances[]
Chance's grave appears in Fallout: New Vegas and the graphic novel All Roads.
