This mysterious piece of technology is used to calibrate Liberty Prime's internal power system.[1]
Location
The adapter is given by Proctor Ingram during the quest Liberty Reprimed if the Sole Survivor was banished from the Institute before recruiting Madison Li. The player character can use it to convince Professor Scara to work for the Brotherhood of Steel during the aforementioned quest. Should the player character succeed to convince Scara to work for them through one of three easy speech checks, the player character may keep the adapter.
