Cazadores are creatures found in the Mojave Wasteland.

Characteristics

A mutant insect species, Cazadores appear to have their origin in Tarantula Hawk Wasps. They appear in three forms: smaller, less powerful Young Cazadores, stronger adults, known simply as Cazadores, and one legendary cazador. They are generally found in mountainous regions of the Mojave wasteland.

The danger in encountering them is that they attack in large numbers and use a deadly toxin. The only way to cure poison is to use Antivenom (though a high endurance may allow the player to resist the poison altogether). Additionally, they will close the distance between themselves and their prey with alarming speed. Cazador eggs and Cazador poison glands are crafting items.

Cazadors have a high perception, however they constantly move about, giving them a highly recognizable movement pattern on the player's radar. This tell-tale can help avoid encounters with these dangerous mutants.

Statistics

Cazador poison: -5 HP/second, -25 AP, lasts 30 seconds. Note that the action point reduction is once per application, and affects your maximum action points, rather than -25/second affecting your current AP total.

Bugs

  • Xbox 360Xbox 360 It is impossible to target the head of a Cazador in VATS unless it is striking forward with its stinger, the Courier is right on top of the enemy or the Cazador is moving on a slope towards the player. Without meeting these conditions the head can never be cycled to as an option in Vats (only the antennae).
  • It is possible they will become stuck in the air close to the ground. They will still move and can clearly be seen and be targeted in VATS, but your shots will always miss.
  • At Callville Bay if a Cazador goes in the water it may be unable to get out.

Appearances

Cazadores appear in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes

  • Cazador is Spanish for "hunter".
