| ||For an overview of cattle prod models in the Fallout series of games, see cattle prod.|
Normally used for herding stubborn livestock, the cattleprod can also be used as a makeshift weapon. It has been outfitted with a thick, electrified metal coil hooked up to a pair of batteries taped down near the handle.
The cattleprod is similar in range, speed and weight to an electrified baton but deals an increased amount of damage. When crafted, cattleprods use legendary modules, becoming legendary weapons with randomly determined effects.
As with other weapons only available after the main questline of Wastelanders, cattleprods cannot be traded, dropped or sold to vendors.
Cattleprods are always crafted at the maximum level available to the player character. The weapon will be a one-star, two-star or three-star legendary weapon with randomly determined effects.

- The cattleprod can be crafted at a weapons workbench if the corresponding plan is known. After completing the main Wastelanders questline, the plan can be bought from Samuel for 250 gold bullion with a Settlers reputation of at least Cautious.
- Once the plan is known, cattleprods may be found as legendary weapons, earned either as quest rewards or found on legendary enemies.
