Characteristics

The Sole Survivor can learn about catfish from the instructor at the Nahant Oceanological Society, who will mention certain species of catfish are equipped with spines long enough to pierce a human heart or lungs.[1]

In Appalachia, Scout Leader Jaggy describes the area in Toxic Valley was previously home to bullhead catfish.[2] An order for three bullhead catfish-themed items can be found at Van Lowe Taxidermy.[3] When being interviewed about food by Dassa Ben-Ami, Reverend Delbert Winters shares a story about his time in the army, where when deployed, the vegetables and fish were foreign to them but they had to eat them anyway, doing so by pretending it was catfish.[4]
