Cass' caravan shotgun is a non-playable weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

This section is transcluded from shotgun. To change it, please edit the transcluded page.

A shotgun, also called a "scattergun," is a firearm designed to shoot a multitude of lead or steel balls of varying sizes, greatly increasing the weapon's hit potential. This makes it very effective at hunting game.[Non-game 1] However, the accuracy and power found at close range starts to diminish as the target gets farther away. Shotguns designed for the military's use are often called "combat shotguns."

The caravan shotgun is a short shotgun in which one barrel is mounted on top of the other. The iron sight is a screw which holds the action release lever to the receiver.

Gameplay attributes[]

The weapon is identical in appearance to the playable caravan shotgun, but has a different skill requirement, value and stats. In the Pip-Boy 3000, it is labeled as a normal caravan shotgun.

Locations[]

Per its name, the weapon is carried by Rose of Sharon Cassidy and serves as her default ranged weapon while an active companion. It cannot be taken from her inventory nor pickpocketed from her outside of companionship and can only be obtained via console commands.

Bugs[]

If this weapon is dropped, it cannot be added back into the inventory. Additionally, when dropped, the name will not be labeled. This is due to the weapon being flagged as "unplayable" in the G.E.C.K.

They are break-action and come in an either a side-by-side or over-and-under barrel configuration. Simple to make and maintain, these shotguns are seen frequently in the Commonwealth and the rest of the wasteland."
