Buffout is a highly advanced steroid that was popularized before the Great War by professional athletes and their clandestine use of the drug. Using too much Buffout causes cardiac arrest, or even death.[1]

The pill-shaped drug, typically contained in small bottles, increases Strength and reflexes, with the disadvantage of being highly addictive. Buffout is similar to real life steroids.
Variants
- Buffjet: Introduced in Fallout 4, this variant is made in a chemistry station and is a combination of Buffout and Jet. Effect: Slows time for 15 seconds.
- Psychobuff: Another Buffout variant introduced in Fallout 4. Made in a chemistry station using Psycho and Buffout. Effect: +25% damage dealt, +3 Strength, and +3 Endurance.
- Bufftats: Another Buffout variant introduced in Fallout 4, this variant is made in a chemistry station using Buffout and Mentats. Effect: +3 Strength, +3 Endurance, +65 HP, and +3 Perception.
