Why yes, let me give you one of my old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies. Enjoy!— Before handing over a tin can

Brailee Ewers is a resident of Arefu in 2277.

A shy person, Brailee is warm[1][2] and compassionate. She is 36 years old and married to Ken Ewers, her overprotective husband, who rarely lets her speak to anyone due to his own paranoia.[3] Her isolation becoming exacerbated when The Family began targeting Arefu for sustenance. The culmination of which being the murder of the brahmin and the settlement's lockdown.[4]

The combination of all the trouble around Arefu, living off a poor diet of prepackaged "food" and being confined to her home with Ken for long periods of time, has caused her already fragile mind to become delusional. To compensate, she has created a utopian world inside her mind.[4] One where they live in a cozy village,[5] where the children play safely in the green yards[6] or fishing at the lake.[7] That she has a recently planted begonia garden near the front gate of her yard.[8] That there is a homeowners association, where she would bring bakedgoods to the next meeting,[9] as she and Mrs. West like to bake and make preserves.[10][11][12][13][14] She believes that the Wests are dead tired from the square dancing at the barn the night previously,[15] and is waiting for the mailman to deliver her fall catalog so she can browse the latest fashions.[16]
