Brahmin are a species of mutated, domesticated cattle raised and herded in human settlements around Los Angeles in the Fallout TV series.

Background[]

The mutant descendants of pre-War cows, brahmin have been domesticated and herded in the wasteland for years following the nuclear apocalypse. Through their domestication, they have been used primarily as pack animals doubling as sources of meat and milk, along with their hides being used for tanning to make leather. Scientific research has determined that the species is born with eight stomachs,[1] but otherwise do not differ significantly from their pre-War ancestors.

Characteristics[]

A large bovine close in appearance to a pre-War cow, distinguished by having two fully functional heads. This is in contrast to previous depictions of brahmin which possessed characteristics such as pink pustulated skin, abnormally distended udders, a complete lack of hair on the body, and misshapen, malformed horns.

In the TV series[]

The Target[]

On the West Coast by the 2290s, brahmin can be found in most agricultural communities and brought as pack animals all around, including to the trading town of Filly. Lucy MacLean passes by one on her way to the town center.[2]

Appearances[]

Brahmin appear in the Fallout TV series episode "The Target."
