Bootjack Cavern is an unmarked location in the Mojave Wasteland that is east of the wrecked Highwayman.
Layout
The cavern can be found by heading due east toward the Lucky Jim mine until reaching the cliff face, then heading north along the cliff. The cavern entrance faces west, towards the road. The cavern is a small cave consisting of three sections which are populated by fire geckos.
Notable loot
- A pile of fire gecko eggs - At the southern end, for the Bleed Me Dry quest.
Notes
- Inside the cave there is a deposit of sulfur and potassium almost identical to the deposit in the Vault 19 sulfur caves, only smaller and not explosive.
- There are two dead prospectors inside the cave which can spawn with different weapons and their corresponding types of ammunition along with apparel such as the slave scarf, which can be difficult to obtain otherwise.
- The Pip-Boy display is deceptive because it displays the quest marker on the east-facing side of the mesa, in the cave's interior. Beginning at the road and heading east could serve as an easier option for travel, rather than beginning at the Lucky Jim mine and heading west.
Appearances
Bootjack Cavern appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
