Background

During the Great War, Anderstein and his family took refuge in a drainage chamber outside of Washington, D.C.. At the time of the transmission, his son was sick and dying (presumably from radiation poisoning) and he was using a radio frequency to call for a doctor to come to his family's sewer hideout.
