Watch out for flying eyeballs! Though more of an aesthetic at the initial rank, this becomes increasingly more potent, especially as the damage bonus is available to any weapon you’re wielding. Spectacular gore-balls are also a real treat to watch explode.Fallout 4 Vault Dweller's Survival Guide

Bloody Mess is a Luck perk in Fallout 4.

Effects[]

Taking ranks of this perk grants +5% bonus damage with all weapons as well as a chance to make enemies explode in a gory mess. Higher ranks increase the damage amount by +5% each, up to 15% as well as grant a chance to make multiple enemies explode from killing one if they're close together.

Ranks[]

Rank Requirements Description Form ID
1 LCK 3 +5% bonus damage means enemies will sometimes explode into a gory red paste. Watch out for flying eyeballs! 0004A0BB
2 LCK 3, LVL 9 You now inflict +10% damage in combat. 001D2453
3 LCK 3, LVL 31 You now inflict +15% damage in combat. 001D2454
4 LCK 3, LVL 47 When an enemy explodes, nearby enemies may suffer the same fate. 001F418E

Notes[]

Bloody Mess is the only perk which universally increases damage. All other forms of damage improvement are limited to either one class of weapons or to specific conditions.

Bugs[]

The fourth rank of the perk has an odd oversight: if the player dismembers an enemy or corpse when there are no other applicable targets nearby, it will target the player. While this doesn't dismember or kill the player, it will make them exclaim in pain as if they had been shot.
