The Bloatfly is one of the weakest enemies in [[Fallout: New Vegas]]. They are incredibly easy to kill, and even when armed with a fairly weak weapon, it will normally take very few shots for them to die. However, it is relatively difficult to hit them from a distance, as they can move in unpredictable patterns with rapid movements.

A bloatfly is a mutated insect in the Mojave Wasteland in 2281.

Behavior

These insects have a fairly insignificant ranged attack and are roughly equivalent to their Fallout 3 counterparts. It consists of them projecting softball sized maggots at the player that latch on and attempt to burrow under the skin to mature. They are fairly easy to swipe off ones self so do little damage. This attack is similar to the attack of the Mutalisk from Blizzards, "Starcraft" franchise, but much weaker.
