Blind Willie Johnson (January 25, 1897 - September 18, 1945) was an American gospel blues singer. Johnson was a skilled slide guitarist who often used a chest singing style in his songs. Though he was relatively obscure for most of his lifetime, Johnson's music has had a wide-reaching influence.
