The bladed gauntlet is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

An unarmed weapon consisting of a thick, reinforced leather armband with three crude, jagged blades made from scrap metal bound to it with leather straps. It deals moderate damage per strike at a decent attack speed. It also deals moderate critical hit damage at a 2x critical chance and a moderate AP cost. albeit has very low-end durability, a low-end caps value, and the second-highest weight of all unarmed weapons along with several others. It requires a 25 Unarmed skill level and a 5 Strength attribute level to use effectively, making it a useful weapon for an unarmed-focused character in the early game.

The weapon originally had a similar ability to ignore enemy DT as the Ripper and thermic lance, but it was later removed with patch 1.3.0.452.

Bugs[]

  • PCPC Xbox 360Xbox 360 This weapon has the icon of a melee weapon when you assign it to the D-pad, even though it is an unarmed weapon. This also happens with the unique Cram Opener.[verified]
  • Xbox 360Xbox 360 If you enter The Fort with this weapon equipped, it will appear on The Courier even your weapons have been confiscated. After leaving, weapons can be equipped with the bladed gauntlet still appearing on the user's hand, thereby rendering some weapons' iron sights unusable. Equipping the weapon and unequipping it should fix this.[verified]
