For the male player character equivalent perk, see Lady Killer. For a cross-game overview of this perk, see Black Widow. |
“"Come into my parlor," said the Black Widow. You're charming... and dangerous to those of the opposite sex. Though the gender of the Commonwealth's population is about evenly split, this perk won't affect those sporting a similar undercarriage to you. Don't forget the Intimidation perk; both of these perks in unison allows almost any situation to be handled your way, without (or with) violence.”— Fallout 4 Vault Dweller's Survival Guide description
Black Widow is a Charisma perk (exclusive to a female Sole Survivor) in Fallout 4.
Effects[]
Taking ranks of this perk grants bonus damage against and chance of success for persuading male NPCs. Higher ranks increase the damage rating and chance of successful persuasion and also increases the chance to successfully use the Intimidation perk on male NPCs.
Ranks[]
Rank | Requirements | Description | Form ID |
---|---|---|---|
1 | CH 2 | You're charming... and dangerous. Men suffer +5% damage in combat, and are easier to persuade in dialogue. | 0004A0D4 |
2 | CH 2, LVL 7 | Men now suffer +10% damage in combat, and are even easier to persuade in dialogue. They are also easier to pacify with the Intimidation perk. | 00065E31 |
3 | CH 2, LVL 22 | Men now suffer +15% damage in combat, and are much easier to persuade in dialogue. They are now even easier to pacify with the Intimidation perk. | 00065E32 |
Behind the scenes[]
Black Widow derives its name from the habit of female Latrodectus (black widow spiders) to cannibalize their mates during or after mating. It is also the official FBI designation for a woman who murders her husband(s), usually in a serial fashion and/or for monetary gain.
Bugs[]
Due to several scripting typos, ranks 2 and 3 provide no actual benefit to pacification success rates with Intimidation, and instead increase difficulty.[verified]
