Bethesda Pinball is a virtual pinball collection developed and published by Zen Studios as a standalone mobile app, as well as an add-on pack for Zen Pinball 2, Pinball FX 2 and Pinball FX 3. It contains three pinball tables based on three notable Bethesda games released in the 2010s: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4 (as Fallout), and the 2016 reboot of Doom.
The Fallout pinball table is primarily based on Fallout 4, but contains gameplay elements from prior Fallout titles. In some respects, it is the first Fallout media to be playable on a Nintendo system, although the first full, standalone game in the series to be available on a Nintendo system would be Fallout Shelter. This is the first and only Fallout media to be awarded an Everyone 10+ rating by the ESRB, as Zen Studios' family-friendly policies and censorship prohibit the depiction of graphic violence and strong profanity that is common throughout the series.
In the Fallout pinball table, the goal is to explore and survive the wasteland, embarking on various quests to find Vault-Tec bobbleheads and siding with any of four factions, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Commonwealth Minutemen, The Railroad or The Institute with a companion and a traditional supply of three balls.
At the beginning of each session, the player must determine the Sole Survivor's gender, SPECIAL stats and companion. While all three can be decided at random, the player also has the option to choose the Sole Survivor's gender and statistics independently.
There are five possible companions that may accompany the player: Codsworth, Dogmeat, Strong, Nick Valentine or John Hancock. Each companion confers a unique benefit. Although Hancock can be romanced in the game, he cannot in the pinball adaptation.
