Beijing was a major pre-War city in China.

Background[]

Beijing was the capital of China before the Great War.[1] After China's defeat during the Battle of Anchorage, their forces were pushed back to the mainland and Beijing shortly before nuclear Armageddon engulfed the world. Beijing, being the capital of China, likely took the brunt of America's nuclear retaliation.

Notes[]

Appearances[]

Beijing is mentioned in Fallout 2, the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage, and Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update. It was set to appear in the canceled Fallout Extreme.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The city was set to appear in the canceled Fallout: Extreme, as a location in the final chapter of the game. After the War, the Chinese mainland was colonized by Taiwan, with Beijing becoming the capital of this new Chinese Empire. It served as the home of the Chinese Emperor, protected by the New Imperial Guard within the Forbidden City. The city would have been controlled by the Army of the Golden Tiger. It is here where The Cause would finally reach their goal, achieving what the Brotherhood could not: Killing the Emperor, destroying the Doom's Day Missiles, and putting an end to the Chinese threat once and for all.

Lots of new signal contacts... are you coming up on Beijing or something? I'm getting suited up now, I'll head out as soon as I can. Just try to be careful out there, okay?"

Constantine Chase: "Damn Red bastards... can't wait to push them all the way back to Beijing. But I didn't call you down here for a pep talk and cigars. You've earned yourself a field promotion, soldier. From this moment on, you're in charge of Patterson's Strike Team."
