Backwoodsman is a magazine in Fallout 76.

Background[]

Backwoodsman was a monthly magazine series featuring articles about outdoor survival for people who like to talk about surviving in the wild,[Non-game 1] covering topics such as the best way to defend against animals or the cooking methods of meats and plants. The cover art for the magazine depicts one of the sensationalist headlines from each issue, depicting violent struggles between man and nature. Issues of Backwoodsman cost $35 per copy.

Characteristics[]

Reading an issue of Backwoodsman will temporarily give the player a unique bonus, such as cheaper weapon crafting or increased healing from cooked food. All bonuses expire after 30 minutes (60 minutes with Curator), and the magazine is consumed once read.

Issues of Backwoodsman are affected by Pannapictagraphist and will emit directional audio when the player character is in range.
