Backpacks are new functional items being introduced with Ever Upwards that you can equip to increase your carry weight, so that you have room for more supplies when you head into the great outdoors. They are also customizable and can be modded to fit your fashion sense and personal tastes.

The backpack is a piece of apparel in the Fallout 76 add-on Wild Appalachia.

It was released on May 7, 2019, as part of patch 1.1.4.3.

CharacteristicsEdit

The backpack is a simple container initially made of green cloth. Secured with leather straps, it features a spacious main compartment and two separate side pouches.

As the level of the backpack increases, so too does the base Carry Weight increase that it provides, maxing out at an additional 60 carry weight at max level (level 50). It can also be outfitted with a variety of mods, both functional and cosmetic. These mods include increased carry weight (in addition to the base amount), increased Damage, Energy or Radiation Resistance, or slower food spoilage.

LocationsEdit

A low-level backpack is initially given as a quest reward for completing The Order of the Tadpole quest. It is provided with the Pioneer Scouts Tadpole material mod. After completion, backpacks can be crafted at any armor workbench.

NotesEdit

  • The backpack provides no benefit when entering a suit of power armor, much like other body armors.
  • Despite having a set value, backpacks cannot be dropped or sold.
  • Atomic Shop backpack skins still require the completion of The Order of the Tadpole mission.
