Automated Voting System of Appalachia, or AVA, is an automated computer system in Appalachia in Fallout 76.
Background[]
An experimental system introduced shortly before the Great War in Appalachia, as part of a general push towards automation, the AVA was intended to expedite voting and eliminate queues. Although set up across Appalachia, system was never tested due to the nuclear holocaust, with the first election slated for November 2, 2077. Voters would choose a senator for the Appalachian Territories, in a snap election called after Sam Blackwell was dismissed from his seat over his Free States affiliation. Additionally, they would vote on approving Ballot Measure 6, the Appalachian Prosperity Act, which would issue a bond and mandate the elimination of human workers from government by 2087.[1]
The existing infrastructure was subsequently hijacked by the Enclave in Appalachia, in other to appoint Thomas Eckhart as President of the United States.[2]

Behind the scenes[]
| The following is based on Fallout 76 cut content. |
A.V.A. originally would have played a role in the cut event Race for the Presidency. It had voice lines performed by Christina Rose that would have been heard during the event, but they never play in the final version of the game. As such, A.V.A.'s appearance in-game is largely relegated to the terminals that mention it.
