The auto axe is a melee weapon in Fallout 76. It was fully introduced in the game with the Expeditions: The Pitt update, though it was first added to the files with the Wastelanders update.
Characteristics[]
Made by the H&H Tools Company,[1] the auto axe is an industrial saw repurposed as a deadly melee weapon. Its blade has been sectioned into three blades. As an automatic melee weapon, it has a high damage output.
Crafting[]
Weapon modifications[]
Weapon mods can only be crafted if the corresponding plan is obtained from Expeditions or purchased with stamps.

Locations[]
- The plan for the auto axe is currently a part of Giuseppe Della Ripa's vendor inventory and may be purchased for 500 stamps. It was previously set to 1000 stamps, but this price was reduced with Once in a Blue Moon.
- The plan for the auto axe may also occasionally be sold in the Atomic Shop for 700 Atoms. This will unlock crafting of the weapon across all available characters on a player's account.
- The plan was first made attainable at rank 15 of The City of Steel, the tenth season. It would automatically be learned upon claiming the rank reward.
Notes[]
- The auto axe first appeared in the Fallout 3 add-on The Pitt.
- The editor ID of the old auto axe plan suggests that the auto axe would originally have been available after completing the main Wastelanders questline, bought with gold bullion from one of the gold vendors. The plan was scrapped, and the auto-axe remained unobtainable until Expeditions: The Pitt.
- The models, textures, animations, and sounds for the auto axe were added in Wastelanders, but corresponded to no item.
- The Turbo mod doesn't do anything, as the weapon is always at its fastest possible speed.
- Prior to patch 1.7.12.10, the Electrified mod dealt electrical damage instead of energy damage.
- The Electrified mod will make the auto axe receive damage bonus benefits from the science perks.
- In patch 1.7.12.10, the auto axe's damage was increased from 10/11/12/14/18/22/26 to 12/13/14/16/21/26/31 at levels 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50.
