The Ant mound is a place in the Mojave Wasteland. It consists of a single section cave inhabited by Fire ants.
Location
It is South of the Allied Technologies Offices and Camp McCarran, or North West of REPCONN Headquarters.
Layout
Exterior
An old, dilapidated farm has been taken over by Fire ants. They have killed the two Brahmin in their corral and likely the inhabitants of the farm itself. The ant mound is hidden in the barn. In or near the barn 5-7 Fire ants are present. Up the stairs inside the barn, there are two Metal Boxes, a Footlocker, a Toolbox, a Grenade Box and an Ammunition Box. Straight north of the barn, there is an Abandoned Warehouse, which is unmarked on your Pip-Boy map.
Ant Mound
Inside the mound is a small network of tunnels with a few fire ants and a Giant Ant Queen. There are also several ant refuse piles in the vicinity of the barn and mound which contain random loot as well as ant nectar. Search the queen after killing her, and sometimes you will find Ant Queen Pheromones.
Within the Queens Chamber you may also find a dead Wastelander, though like other wastelanders that have fallen before him, he contains no decent loot.
