For an overview of ant variants, see Giant ant.
Ants are creatures that appear in the Fallout 4 add-on .
Capital Wasteland and Mojave Wasteland counterparts, the species of ants found around Nuka-World are relatively small, more comparable to those found in Northern California and Broken Hills with larger specimens being around the same size as a medium-large sized radroach. Large and small forager ants make up the bulk of their colonies, while soldier ants guard them to apply defense. Small, flight-enabled swarms also exist and act together as if by a hive mind in the group.
All in all, ants are not a serious threat, only being dangerous when swarming the player character due to encroachment of their territories.
Ants can be found around ant nests, some walking outside while others may be sitting on top of the nest itself.
Ants are almost always found in groups consisting of both flying and normal ants. They do not pose a very big threat, as they do little damage.
Small forager ant
Small forager ants are the weakest variant of ants. They appear mostly around ant nests.
Small soldier ant
Small soldier ants have slightly more health than small forager ants, but still pose very little threat to the player character.
Small glowing ant
Small glowing ants have more HP than small soldier ants and also inflict minor radiation damage.
The most basic type of ants, the forager ant has low HP and low damage.
Soldier ants have more HP and are more aggressive than forager ants. They have a darker color in appearance compared to forager ants.
A glowing ant has slightly more HP than a soldier ant and inflict a small amount of radiation damage.
Overgrown forager ant
Overgrown forager ants are bigger and faster than normal forager and soldier ants, along with a larger health pool.
Overgrown soldier ant
An even stronger variant, these ants are more powerful than overgrown forager ants.
Overgrown glowing ant
The most dangerous variant of ants in terms of health and damage. They also inflict a small amount of radiation damage.
Flying ant swarm
The flying ant swarm consists of a tight cluster of many small flying ants. Though each individual ant in the swarm has a relatively small amount of health (often being killed in a single hit), all ants in the swarm contribute to the total health bar. This necessitates killing all ants present in the swarm to completely neutralize it. While the flying ant swarm is a nuisance at best when encountered alone, it can prove to be problematic when encountered together with other ant varieties.
Flying soldier ant swarm
This swarm is faster than the normal swarm and deals more damage.
Flying glowing ant swarm
This swarm is identical to the normal swarm, but it deals radiation damage and moves more rapidly.
Ants can be found all over
Nuka-World, aside from the parks and Nuka-Town USA. One ant swarm will always spawn in the Gauntlet.
Within the files of the Creation Kit, ants are referred to as "rad ants."
Even though different ant swarms consist of different types of ants, they all have the same amount of HP.
Ants appear only in the
add-on Fallout 4 .
