For an overview of ant variants, see Giant ant. |
Ants are creatures that appear in the Fallout 4 add-on Nuka-World.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Biology[edit | edit source]
Unlike their Capital Wasteland and Mojave Wasteland counterparts, the species of ants found around Nuka-World are relatively small, more comparable to those found in Northern California and Broken Hills with larger specimens being around the same size as a medium-large sized radroach. Large and small forager ants make up the bulk of their colonies, while soldier ants guard them to apply defense. Small, flight-enabled swarms also exist and act together as if by a hive mind in the group.
All in all, ants are not a serious threat, only being dangerous when swarming the player character due to encroachment of their territories.
Gameplay attributes[edit | edit source]
Ants can be found around ant nests, some walking outside while others may be sitting on top of the nest itself.
Ants are almost always found in groups consisting of both flying and normal ants. They do not pose a very big threat, as they do little damage.

Flying ant swarm[edit | edit source]

The flying ant swarm consists of a tight cluster of many small flying ants. Though each individual ant in the swarm has a relatively small amount of health (often being killed in a single hit), all ants in the swarm contribute to the total health bar. This necessitates killing all ants present in the swarm to completely neutralize it. While the flying ant swarm is a nuisance at best when encountered alone, it can prove to be problematic when encountered together with other ant varieties.
