| The following is based on Fallout 76 cut content. |
AnnouncerM_EBS_Radio is an unused voice type, representing a voice box character and potential radio station, that was cut from Fallout 76.
Background[]
Not much is known about this apparent radio broadcast or what purpose it would have served in the game. No record or form ID exists for a voice type by the name "AnnouncerM_EBS_Radio," but a folder for such a voice type still exists in the game's Voices .bsa file. However, it is not connected to anything, and the voice lines included in the folder are named after form IDs that are no longer in the game (0037131D for the main broadcast, 003B25E8 for the "waiting" line). The dialogue from these voice lines is not found anywhere in-game, and appears to have been deleted at some point during development.
The main broadcast consists of six voice lines, although they are numbered in the folder as 1-4 and 6-7, with a fifth line conspicuously missing. The broadcast mentions the "Appalachia Department of Natural Resources," which is not referenced anywhere else in-game. Following a mass die-off of animals near water sources around Clarksburg and the surrounding valley, the broadcast urges listeners to take caution and report unusual symptoms or carcass sightings to a "Wildlife Survey Bot" working near the Clarksburg lake, at which point they may assist with biohazard research. This indicates that the broadcast may have originally been used for a quest in the Toxic Valley region that was ultimately cut.
Another separate line in the same folder is shorter and simply states: "Waiting for hunters to join the hunt." Although its purpose is unknown, there is a daily quest in the Toxic Valley, Big Game Hunter, which involves a hunting tournament for creatures in the region, and did make it into the game.
The voice lines in the AnnouncerM_EBS_Radio folder appear to have been voiced by Sunkrish Bala, using a delivery in the style of an automated alert, but none of them are heard in-game.
Appearances[]
AnnouncerM_EBS_Radio was cut from Fallout 76.
Behind the scenes[]
Although not explicitly stated anywhere, the "EBS" in the name is a common initialism for Emergency Broadcast System, variations of which appear throughout the Fallout series.
