At the first rank of this perk, animals simply won't attack. At the second rank, they will actually come to your aid in combat, but never against another animal. This perk affects the Dog, Yao Guai, Mole Rat, and Brahmin.— In-game description

Animal Friend is a perk in Fallout 3.

Effects

The perk has two ranks and affects dogs, yao guai, mole rats and mad brahmins. With the first rank, these animals do not attack the Lone Wanderer. With the second rank, they assist in combat, but never against other animals.

Notes

This perk enables a new line of dialogue with Tree Father Birch in Oasis upon first speaking with him.[1]
