Ammunition boxes are a type of container in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
Per its name, an ammo box typically contains a variety of ammunition types, though there is a chance that it may also contain at least one Stealth Boy.
While most instances of the ammo box use the standard green ammo box model, some instead use the Enclave crate model.

- Four in the guard post adjacent to the west end of the bridge. Marked as owned, will incur Karma loss.

- One inside the Broc flower cave, in the second-level laboratory where the Ratslayer is found. Mostly clipping into the ground but can still be interacted with.
- Novac:
- Two behind the counter of the Dino Bite gift shop. Marked as owned, will incur Karma loss.
- Six around the REPCONN test site checkpoint, one in the tollbooth beneath the archway, two on top of the archway, three in the roadside recreation area west of the overpass along with a mine and grenade box.
- Note: One of the five in the roadside recreation area appears to be almost completely clipped inside a wrecked car but can still be interacted with.
- Six around the front steps of the REPCONN test site, three behind the sandbag barricade opposite from the rocket statue, three above that near a flagpole.
- HELIOS One
- Five around the exterior of the plant, one behind the barricade near the southern front door, four in the various NCR tents around the panel array on the north side (one has an Easy-level lock).
- One in the recreation room across from the entrance within the solar collection tower.
- Two inside the El Dorado Gas & Service behind the counter.
- Vault 11
- Four stacked on shelves in the security room within the living quarters section.

- Two in the Average-locked storage room, accessed through the room behind the Average-locked door to the right of the entrance in the REPCONN headquarters.
- One near the ant mound on the upper floor of the barnhouse next to a grenade box.
- One around Black Mountain, in the guard shack near the first roadblock following the road from the west from Neil's shack.
- Camp McCarran:
- Two found near some shelves in a tent found northeast of First Recon's tent.
- Two found near the eastern bunk of First Recon's tent. Both of these are considered owned.
- Seven found at the two posts found against the western wall of Camp McCarran. Each post has two boxes, and three more can be found behind a sandbag wall near a flood light. Taking from around half of these is considered stealing.
- At the bunker in the northwestern corner of the parking lot, there are two ammo boxes. Further north behind a different sandbag wall is an ammo and Grenade box. One of the two boxes are owned in the bunker, and the grenade box is considered owned.
- Five found in the storage tent (the tent with selves of supplies). Two of these are considered owned.
- One found behind the sandbag wall in front of the central set of doors for the Camp McCarran terminal building. This is marked as owned.
- Eight found at and around the elevated post found a bit west of the external entrance to the Camp McCarran supply shack.
- One inside the Monte Carlo Suites, in the southwestern room. Has an Average-level lock.
- Two near the Horowitz farmstead, in the barnhouse in which the three Jackals reside (one has an Average-level lock).
- Five around the Violet and Violetta trailer compound near the Poseidon gas station, on shelves in the sheet-metal lean-to inhabited by Violet.
- One inside the Crimson Caravan Company, inside the guard barracks. Has an Easy-level lock and marked as owned, will incur Karma loss.
- Four around Fields' shack, one just outside in the bed of a truck, three inside the shack near the shelves where the Abilene Kid LE BB gun is found.

- Bitter Springs:
- Five in the storage tent on the northern end of the NCR camp, three of which are marked as owned and will incur Karma loss.
- Two in the Great Khan supply cave directly north from the refugee camp, past the closer one. One has an Average-level lock.
- Three in the Great Khan supply cave inhabited by Oscar Velasco, one behind the gate in the room with the supply cache, two in Velasco's camp on the far side of the cave.
- Nellis Air Force Base:
- Four in the southern hangar, two on either side of a grenade box close to the door, and two behind a desk near the western wall in the northwestern corner. Marked as owned, will incur Karma loss.
- Seven in the Nellis array, in the northeastern corner, on several shelves to the right of the blast doors on the opposite side from the ant mound.
- Four in the Camp Forlorn Hope Quartermaster's tent. Three of these are on the table, and one is below them.
- One inside the Smith Mesa prospector camp, in the guard post.
- Two around the sniper's nest, one next to the Very Hard-locked crate containing the Gobi Campaign scout rifle, one next to a slanted tent by the cliff edge overlooking Cottonwood Cove.
- The Fort:
- One inside the Securitron vault beneath the weather monitoring station, in the security room just after Mr. House's terminal.
- Three around the scavenger platform on Lake Mead, one on each of the west, northeastern, and eastern rafts.
- Three in Silver Peak Mine, inside the ground-level shack before entering the mine itself.
- One in Charleston Cave near Jacobstown, in the first tunnel loop near the camp (has an Easy-level lock).
- Two around Ranger Station Alpha, one in the southernmost tent on the shelves (has an Average-level lock) and one in the central tent (has an Easy-lvel lock).
- 17 at Ranger Station Bravo, in the flatbed of a truck. Eight are marked as owned and will incur Karma loss, including the four with an Average-level lock.
- One on the shelves inside Scheffer's tent at Ranger Station Delta.
- One found at the elevated post at Ranger Station Echo alongside a grenade box.
- One found in the tent at Ranger Station Foxtrot, alongside a Very Easy-locked Mine box.
- Seven with the Enclave crate model can be found in the Hidden Valley bunker, all inside the armory which can only be accessed through a key-locked door underneath the floor grate.
- One with the Enclave crate model can be found in the storage room on the second floor of the Silver Rush.

- One on the north end of a supply truck surrounded by military shipping crates.
- Two slightly to the east of the chainlink fence, behind a sandbag barriade.
- Four near the chainlink fence gate, one behind a sandbag barricade, three around an overturned truck.
- Two along the eastern side of the military camp near some military shipping crates.
- Two around where Colonel Royez resides, near a gun case.
- Four in the northwest corner of the area, guarded by glowing tropper ghouls.
Sierra Madre[]
- Villa
- One near the Villa police station. Go directly east from the station's front door, up a flight of stairs and under a wooden gangplank. Take a sharp right through a Cloud-covered two-story building to reach the gangplank and walk across to reach the balcony with the ammo box next to a first aid kit and an Easy-locked grenade box.
- Two near the entrance to Puesta del Sol. Look north from the door and go into the courtyard where they are to the right of the fountain.
- One near the entrance to the Residential District. Go north from the door into a Cloud-covered courtyard where the ammo box is right next to the dead tree on the northeast side.
- Medical District:
- Three in the second courtyard from the entrance, two in the southeast corner beneath a graffiti tag reading "IF ANYONE FINDS THIS IM SO SORRY YOURE HERE." The third is on the balcony above the courtyard and is reached by entering the corridor to the north, then going through the gift shop at the far end, past the archway that leads to the front entrance of the Villa clinic, then going through the upper level until reaching the first balcony with the ammo box.
- Residential District:
- One near the area entrance. Go up the stairs straight ahead into the room and look behind the couch to find the ammo box.
- One under the covered section of the district's southwest corner.
- One in the northeastern courtyard (the Cloud-covered one reached by going through the Average-locked gate near the entrance), in the upstairs of the northern building behind a couch next to one of Dean's Secret Stashes.
- Three in the middle courtyard (go up the stairs from the entrance, through the building to the other side and straight ahead) covered by the Cloud (advisable to recruit Dean Domino beforehand to get his Unclean Living perk), with the ammo boxes in the center next to a RadAway and a first aid kit. One of them has an Hard-level lock.
- Salida del Sol:
- One slightly north of the map marker for Campanas del Sol, just before reaching the ladder to the Belltower. It has an Average-level lock.
- Tampico:
- One behind the desk in Dean's dressing room in the backrooms.
- Executive suites:
- Two inside the security room's storage closet on a bottom shelf. The Average-locked door can be unlocked from the nearby Average-locked security control panel terminal which can either be hacked or unlocked with the suites security pass.
- Sierra Madre vault:
- Two on some shelves in the first room with speakers, near the exit to the hall leading to the second speaker room.
Zion Canyon[]
- Two on the large upper platform inside Morning Glory cave.
- One in the lookout tower at Ranger Substation Peregrine.
- One near the makeshift bed inside the unmarked stalkers' camp, which is concealed with vegetation and a wooden fence southwest of the cliff that makes up the Aerie summit.
- Five in the various White Legs camps throughout the Three Marys canyon.
- Two inside the Three Marys' caverns.
- Two in the small room in the back of the Zion Ranger station.

- One in the room with the two dead marked men and destroyed sentry bot on Level One, behind a knocked-over computer console.
- Two in the room next to the "Sentry Security Access Level One" terminal (take a left turn just before the ramp up to the bunker's exit) in the back corner (one has an Average-level lock).
- Hopeville Missile Base:
- One next to the Roughin' it! bedroll kit located on top of the exit from the missile bunker (has a Hard-level lock).
- Two on the east side of the Hopeville women's barracks between the building and the chain-link fence (one has an Average-level lock).
- Three inside the women's barracks, two behind the sandbag barricade, one in the back room (requires detonating the warhead in front of the north-side door).
- Three around the outside of the base headquarters, one on top of the west end of the L-shape roof (has an Average-level lock), two on a small platform slightly west of the headquarters (one has an Easy-level lock).
- Three inside the Hopeville armory, around the southwest corner.
- Two south of the marked men camp map marker, inside a broken freezer unit in the second-southernmost building (entrance is next to a RALPHIE poster on the east side).

Notes[]
With the Old World Blues add-on installed, it is highly rare to find an ammo box that is already empty when entering the game cell where one is located. This is due to the add-on modifying the only guaranteed empty ammunition box variant and adding 3-5 microfusion cells and energy cells to its contents.
