Akil Hooper is a developer who worked at Obsidian Entertainment on Fallout: New Vegas as an area designer.
Career[]
Work on the Fallout series[]
On Fallout: New Vegas, Hooper wrote much of the content for Primm,[1] including Primm Slim's dialogue, as well as the story of Vikki and Vance.[2][3] This also extended to the quests and content of the companion ED-E.[4] Hooper was partially responsible for designing Come Fly With Me alongside Jesse Farrell,[5] and was one of the area designers on the Hoover Dam.[6] Hooper was responsible for designing Vault 3,[7] and worked on the implementation of the quest Volare!,[8] as one of the area designers working on the Boomers and Nellis Air Force Base.[9] Hooper was also an area designer on the REPCONN HQ and created the Q-35 matter modulator.[10] He created the Gomorrah casino and designed the quest line (How Little We Know) for the Omertas.[11] Hooper also wrote the now-famous NCR trooper line "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter."[11]
For the game's add-ons, his credit was changed to additional area designer; on Dead Money, he performed scripting work for the radio signals in the Villa.[12]
Other work[]
Hooper left Obsidian Entertainment in April 2011. He has worked on the EverQuest franchise, both before and after his tenure at Obsidian.
