Background[]
Before the Great War, Acadia National Park was a major attraction. It featured trails, campgrounds, and other recreational areas, and served to protect the wildlife and natural features of the Island while providing a space for sightseeing. Hunting and fishing were restricted, with licenses purchasable from National Park HQ.[1]

Acadia National Park was a large national park occupying the northeast quadrant of the Island. The park consisted of the administrative offices, the visitor's center, and numerous campground areas.
