The 5.56mm round is a type of ammunition in Fallout 4.
Characteristics[]
5.56mm rifle cartridges that use 55 grain, boat tail hollow-point bullets and are manufactured by Circle G ammunition. Prior to the Great War, these were sold in boxes of 20 cartridges.

- Emplaced turrets will use this as ammunition and can be retrieved if they are destroyed.
- Can be found in ammunition boxes around the wasteland.
- Sold by various vendors around the Commonwealth.
- Eleanor sells a large quantity of 5.56mm rounds. She can be found near her trailer home just northwest of Fairline Hill Estates.
- Can be sold by a vendor in an unmarked structure just north of the coastal cottage.
- Bunker Hill - A single round can be found on a steel beam next to a machinegun turret in the utility basement.
- Forest Grove marsh - A box of 12 rounds can be found inside a shattered display case in the gun shop.
- Monsignor Plaza - A single round can be found in a shattered display case in the gun shop.
- Recon bunker Theta - Three single rounds can be found on the metal shelf closest to the ladder in the unmarked bunker to the south-southeast.
- Spectacle Island - A single round can be found next to an ammo box on a metal cabinet in the garage near the destroyed house.
- Starlight Drive In - A single round can be found on the lower shelf of a metal table at the top of the movie screen.
- The Prydwen - Two single rounds can be found on a metal shelf in the armory. Another single round can be found on a tray on the counter. All are marked as owned.
- USAF Satellite Station Olivia - A single round can be found in an isolated bathtub containing a toolbox due east.
- Echo Lake Lumber - A box of 23 rounds can be found in a locked display case in the store adjoining the lobster roll stand.

The box for this ammunition states that 5.56mm rounds are loaded with hollow point bullets but the ammunition model depicts a spitzer bullet.
