The .44 magnum revolver is a small gun in Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas

Being that this is the most powerful handgun in the world, and can blow your head clean-off, you've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?— Harry Callahan, and the Fallout 2 item description

Main article: .44 magnum revolver
The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a powerful, six-shot, double-action revolver manufactured by the U.S. company Smith & Wesson since 1955. Centuries later, copies of it can still be found in the wastes.

The .44 does quite a bit more damage than the 10mm or the Desert Eagle. It also fires 1 AP faster; with Fast Shot, and Bonus Rate of Fire, this lets the player fire the gun for just 2 AP, which for the average player is a highly effective four attacks per round. However, the Desert Eagle .44 has a range of 10 hexes more, but also needs another AP to be fired.

It can be upgraded to the .44 magnum with a speedloader, decreasing its reload AP cost to 1.

  • Flick in the Den sells this weapon, as does Happy Harry in Vault City.
  • A drug dealer in New Reno (Virgin Street, turn right at the Desperado and walk north, he uses Ian's model) has this gun and some JHP ammo for it.

Behind the scenes

The item's description is a reference to Clint Eastwood's iconic line in Dirty Harry.
